About Haughton Teas
Haughton Teas is a storied brand with a rich history that traces its roots back to the colonial era of Sri Lanka, when the pioneers of Ceylon Tea first introduced tea to the island. Our journey began amidst the lush landscapes of Kalawana, in the Ratnapura District, a region renowned for its natural beauty and ideal tea-growing conditions. With over 250 acres of prime tea-growing land, Haughton Estate has long been recognized for producing some of the finest teas in the world, benefiting from the unique climate and fertile soil bordering the Sinharaja Rain Forest.
In more recent years, Haughton Teas became part of Ruhunu Development Contractors & Engineers (Pvt) Ltd. (RDCE), a diversified company that has successfully ventured into tea plantations and agriculture. RDCE’s strategic acquisition of Haughton Teas brought the company’s legacy into a new era, while still maintaining the time-honored traditions and high standards for which the brand is known.
