It provides living for over 2000 individuals through its plantations namely, Haughton Estate - Kalawana, Mihidum Valley Plantations – Elpitiya, Haycock  Valley  Tea  Factory  -Udugama,  Sannasgama  Tea Factory - Sannasgama and Malpudanella Plantations - Banagala.
